Sin Nombre Director To Take on Jane Eyre
American-born director Cary Fukenaga’s feature debut Sin Nombre, about a young Honduran girl who moves to Mexico but dreams of a life in the USA, wowed fans and critics alike and so anticipation has been rife over what the young filmmaker would do next. Announcement of his second movie project may come as something of a surprise, however, as it seems he is to director a new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s 1847 novel Jane Eyre.
Although the book has been adapted for the big and small screens before, Fukunaga’s film will focus on the darker elements of the strange love story between young Jane and her shadowy employer, Mr Rochester. h Juno’s Ellen Page was previously attached to star, but Fukunaga will now start casting this on his own.
