Steven Spielberg’s Civil War saga Lincoln, Ben Affleck’s Iran hostage-crisis thriller Argo and Kathryn Bigelow’s Osama bin Laden thriller Zero Dark Thirty are among the films nominated for the best-picture prize by the Producers Guild of America.

Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook and Sam Mendes take on the James Bond franchise Skyfall have also been nominated by the PGA.

The Producers Guild nominees for best documentary are A People Uncounted, The Gatekeepers, The Island President, The Other Dream Team and Searching for Sugar Man.
