Horner is expected to leave News Corp. to work on public relations strategy with film studio head Jeff Robinov and marketing chief Sue Kroll.
Although the studio declined to comment on the appointment, a source with knowledge of the situation told Variety Horner is expected to come on board next month.
Horner, who is based in New York, has served as a communications execuctive for Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. officially as the Vice President of corporate affairs and communications.
A studio source was quoted by Deadline as saying: “It’s a newly created position, housed in the theatrical marketing division, that will work closely with Jeff Robinov, Sue Kroll, her publicity team, the production team, and the Warner Bros’ corporate communications group.
“It’s designed to make our communications process smoother and better.”
Warner Bros. upcoming titles include Ben Affleck’s Argo, Clint Eastwood’s Trouble with the Curve, Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim and Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
