David O Russell has assembled a fantastic cast for his next project, bringing together Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams and Christian Bale for his as-yet-untitled film.
As reported by The Wrap, Russell will be directing from his own screenplay, which he is co-writing with Eric Warren Singer. The screenplay will be based on Singer’s original script.
The story is based on a real life financial con artist (played by Bale) and his partner in crime (Adams) who must work with a federal agent (Cooper) to bring other mobsters and dirty politicians to justice. Renner is to play the leader of the New Jersey state assembly, the story’s local hero.
Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Rovan, who is co-producing alongside colleague Richard Suckle and Annapurna Picture’ Megan Ellison and Ted Schipper, stated ““David has put together an incredible ensemble of actors for what is going to be a powerful and emotional drama about one of the most memorable cast of characters in recent history.”
Silver Linings Playbook producer Jon Gordon will executive produce, alongside Cooper and Singer.
Production on the film starts in February, for a planned release in late 2013.
