Focus Features International acquires rights to untitled Woody Allen project

Woody Allen worked successfully with Focus Features on the commercial and critical success To Rome With Love

Focus Features International – headed up by Alison Thompson – will commence pre-sales at the Toronto Film Festival on Allen’s next, currently untitled film after they successfully collaborated on Allen’s most recent film To Rome With Love.

Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins, Peter Sarsgaard, Max Casella and Alden Ehrenreich star in the comedy.

A Gravier Production fiml, Allen’s producers are Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in San Francisco and New York this month.

Focus Features International handled sales on Allen’s last film, To Rome with Love starring Allen, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penélope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page.

The film has grossed $27.1 million at the international box office, while brining in a solid $15.1 million in the U.S.

The Toronto festival slate includes Rian Johnson’s new thriller Looper and Cloud Atlas from Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, and Andy Wachowski.
