Kristen Stewart has reportedly dropped out of her role in action thriller Cali, with Amber Heard taking her place at short notice, as the fallout from her affair with director Rupert Sanders continues to impact on the string of titles she’s attached to.
Nick Cassavetes will direct the Voltage Pictures movie Cali, which is due to start shooting late this summer.
It’s not as yet confirmed which part Heard will take, but it seems likely she will play the role of Mya, for which Stewart was cast, sources told Variety.
Stewart is also due to co-produce the movie, but it is unknown whether she will continue on the film in a producing capacity.
Stewart is also said to have pulled out of the London premiere of Walter Salles’ forthcoming adaption of the Jack Kerouac novel On the Road in the wake of cheating on Robert Pattinson, who is due to star alongside her in the last instalment of the Twilight Saga franchise later this year.
A source told RadarOnline: “Kristen won’t be doing the red carpet for On the Road – she’s too ashamed to show her face in public right now.
“After everything that has been said, and in light of the revelations that she cheated on Robert with director Rupert Sanders, she’s running scared at the moment.
