NBCQ and Don’t Panic launch short film competition

New British Cinema Quarterly (NBCQ) and Don’t Panic have launched a short film competition, with prizes including an expenses paid trip to the 56th BFI London Film Festival.

In November NBCQ are bringing a collection of British short films to cinemas.

In association with the release, Don’t Panic and NBCQ are looking for 30-second long films that recreates a scene from a British classic: “Maybe a Hitchcockian suspense sequence, a Mike Leigh-esque social comment or a homage to The Inbetweeners.”

The winning film will be featured on the NBCQ Annual DVD and exhibited across the Don’t Panic, Soda Pictures, NBCQ and London Film Festival social channels.

The filmmaker will be given two tickets to a UK Premiere at the 56th BFI London Film Festival, with travel and accommodation also paid.

Runners up prizes include a one year membership to your local independent cinema and the opportunity to have their film featured on the NBCQ Annual DVD.

The top 20 entries by vote will be shortlisted and published on our YouTube channel. New British Cinema Quarterly will select the overall winner.
