Edible Cinema to screen Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice for Halloween edition

Winona Ryder in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice, which will screen at The Aubin cinema for Edible Cinema's Halloween edition.

The Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch, East London, will once again play host to Edible Cinema for a special Halloween edition; a screening of Tim Burton’s horror classic Beetlejuice will be coupled with an integrated tasting experience and specially mixed drinks from Bombay Sapphire. Tickets are on sale now.

Edible Cinema is a collaboration between the Soho House Group, experimental food designer ‘The Curious Confectioner ‘    David Bradley and Bombay Sapphire mixologist Sam Carter.

The audience will be provided with a series of numbered packages before the start of the film, allowing them to eat their way through the film’s surreal landscapes and inhabitants as the flavours, smells and textures underscore the action on screen.

Released in 1988, Beetlejuice helped to establish Tim Burton as one of the leading directors of his generation, while establishing performers Winona Ryder, Geena Davis and Catherine O’Hara in the Hollywood mainstream. Ryder recently announced she would be working with Burton on a sequel of the film.

The organisers of Edible Cinema said of the screening:  ”On arrival, guests will also be served a Bombay Beetle Juice cocktail. The cocktail’s devilishly fruity, rooty, spicy and citrus notes incorporate Bombay Sapphire, bright beetroot, tangy lemon juice and sweet Chambord black raspberry liqueur, all topped with fiery ginger beer.”

Edible Cinema will take place on Saturday 28 October at 4.00pm and Wednesday 31 October at 9.00pm at The Aubin Cinema, 64-66 Redchurch Street, London E2 7DP.

Tickets are priced between £23 and £52 per person and are on sale now. To book email: ediblecinema@aubincinema.com
