Korean entertainment group CJ E&M Corporation have merged their international and domestic film division and appointed Showbox executive and former Joon-ho Bong producer Tae-sung Jung as head of film.
Jung has previously worked in senior roles at the Busan International Film Festival, Genesis Pictures and Showbox/Mediaplex. His credits include international blockbusters 200 Pounds Beauty, Taegugki and, most notably, Joon-ho Bong’s The Host.
CEO of CJ E&M Corporation and former head of film and broadcasting Sung-su Kim will now focus solely on global strategy.
A statement released by CJ E&M said: “This new appointment is to reinforce the leadership based on the expertise of each division, to upgrade actual competence to compete in the globally competitive circumstances, and to accelerate on creating synergy,”
